1. Repeat the same experiment with better technology.
- With a better technology that can precisely apply to the pressure point would give a more precise value. 2. Have a larger sample size. - My first experiment had 11 participants while my second experiment had 10 participants. That was not a lot. I would try to recruit more people which would help to improve the precision of my mean value when I do the calculation. 3. Study the second part of the experiment for a longer period of time - I would like to see the improvement of those who do mindfulness exercises and to be able to track the progress and improvement over many weeks or even months.

During the progress of the second experiment, while I have collected many meaningful and great data, which proved mindfulness is helpful and effective in improving pain tolerance, I forgot to think about the control group for this experiment. Because of that, I added this newly created plan to the experiment, which is using the same people, the same procedure but without the mindfulness part. Instead of doing mindfulness, I am going to ask people to sit there doing nothing for three minutes. With this control group, it will help me to conclude and assure whether mindfulness is actually effective.

1. Connect the Dual-Range Force Sensor to LabQuest.
2. Connect LabQuest to computer. 3. Choose +/- 50N option on the Force Sensor. 4. Open up Logger Pro. 5. Find the pressure point that you chose. 6. Push it with your finger to reassure. 7. Take the Force Sensor with the bumper attachment precisely applying force on that exact pressure point until that person responds. 8. Since the calibration only lasts for 15 seconds, record one time only. 9. Open up your excel and record in the 'before' column. 10. Now play a 5-minute mindfulness session using Headspace App on my phone (Each person that I am going to work with will only do exactly one session.) 11. Repeat 5-8. 12. Record in the 'after' column. Each pressure point is yin or yang depending on the direction of energy flow. There are twelve bi-lateral visceral (organ-related) channels which six are yin and six are yang. These channels are arranged into six circuits on each side of the body. These circuits can be compared to electrical wiring. There are both positive and negative wires. Both charges are needed for the current to flow. These circuits in healing are known as feng shui.

There are three simple questions before applying pressure points or performing a technique on your partner.
1. Do you have any injuries of health conditions? Knowing the answer to this question will help to indetify which areas a person needs to avoid such as a shoulder pain or neck strain and sprain during practices. 2. Are you over 40 or under 16? Knowing the answer to this question can help you be more aware of what techniques and how intense you should perform them on a person. For example, someone over 40 years of age maybe has a chance of an undiscovered ailment, such as heart conditions. For those under 16, in traditional Chinese medicine states that these adolescents' energetic systems are still at the developing stage. With these cautions, it does not mean 16 years old should not train. It only means that they should be aware of consequences during practices. 3. Do you train pressure points? If so, when was the last time(s) and what area(s) of your body? Knowing the answer to this question helps you to be aware of those areas, which are already stimulated or may be overly sensitive. A reminder is to practice for a limited of amount of time (less than 15 minutes of activating targets) and allow 72 hours to recover. |
